Potentially very exciting news. Warner have acquired the Friday the 13th license from Paramount.
Daniel Farrands has confirmed on his Facebook page:
'It's confirmed that Warner Bros. DID acquire the F13th titles
from Paramount. But they haven't yet decided whether they will release a
full Blu-ray box set or simply release "one offs" of each title. Stay
tuned.'
Paramount seemed to be sitting on the remainder of the franchise rather than releasing them to Blu-ray. Hopefully we will get a Box set similarly to the Nightmare on Elm Street collection that Warner released. The really great thing about this deal is Warner already owns the New Line Cinema entries to the series so we could get the whole franchise for the first time in one Blu-ray Box Set.
I really hope this happens soon because I need me some Jason Lives and Jason X in glorious HD.
