Hi Slash fans, as you can see it's been a little while since I've posted. Sadly following Christmas holiday my computer decided without warning that it would not connect to the internet despite every other device in the house having no issue with it. Making posting on here and other fun stuff like downloading Podcasts a tad difficult. Wouldn't you know it out of nowhere yesterday the PC just changes it's mind after over a month.
Anyway here's a bit of an update to reassure you the quest for the ultimate Slasher movie Blu-Ray collection isn't dead. I've added several titles to both the complete A-Z of Slasher movies in my Blu-Ray collection and the list of Slasher movies that are available all over the world that I haven't got my hands on as of yet.
The Slasher Movie Blu-Ray Collection A-Z...
Slasher Movies available on BD NOT in the collection yet...
As you can see there's a fair few more of them. Perhaps the most surprising of which was the sudden appearance of a exclusive double feature from Mill Creek Entertainment at Walmart stores in the US of When A Stranger Calls / Happy Birthday To Me. Not only did it appear out of nowhere at a bargain price but the transfers of both films are tremendous. Mill Creek get a giant thumbs up from me on this one. If there was one criticism it would be the astonishingly ugly cover artwork but as a disc its stellar. If your having trouble picking up the Walmart fear not it will be available on general release on March 26th in the US.
I mentioned Podcasts earlier and I have to mention The Hysteria Continues from the guys that run the OG Slasher movie review site Hysteria-lives.co.uk and The Bodycount Continues forum. I've listened to it a fair bit and as a Slasher fan its a must listen podcast. Its funny, charming, informative and passionate. There's not much more you can ask than that. You can subscribe for free at iTunes or at Hysteria Lives!
Whilst I'm at it the chap that runs Hysteria-lives.co.uk Justin Kerswell also has a frankly jaw dropping coffee table book out named Teenage Wasteland: The Slasher Movie Uncut in the UK and The Slasher Movie Book in the US. Next time your in a decent book store check it out. The artwork it contains alone makes it a must have not to mention its a great, in depth chronicling of the history of the Slasher movie. BUY IT!
Hopefully now my PC has resurrected itself I won't be quite as MIA as I have been from the blog.
Back soon....
(Crosses fingers)
